We value skills in on-the-spot analysis of speech, language and comprehension and providing strategies that ensure a child, youth or adult can participate to the best of their ability in what is often a foreign context.
Moretalk is one of two Nationwide providers of court-appointed Communication Assistants in New Zealand. We provide free initial foundation training and quality ongoing professional development as part of engagement with any sub-contractors.

Moretalk is seeking a dynamic Communication Assistant (CA) / Speech Language Therapist to join our team in the Te Tai Tokerau Region based in Whangarei, with flexible arrangements including 0.6 FTE or more, contracting or employment options, and the flexibility to work from home with some travel.
As a Communication Assistant, you will:
Conduct assessments of functional communication and provide real-time support in legal and social sector contexts.
Work with stakeholders to improve communication access and deliver both formal and informal training.
Create accessible, plain language resources and support service improvements that foster equity and inclusion.
Contribute to research and development projects aimed at strengthening justice and social sectors.
As a Moretalk team member, you will need:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Expert knowledge of speech, language and communication needs including neurodiversity, cognitive impairments and an understanding of the impact of a trauma response on communication.
